Does the Ignition Key differ from Product key?

I recently re-downloaded Marble Blast Gold onto my laptop?
Typing the Product key (as found on the 'My Products page') returns an error, and when i try to download an ignition file for MBG, I type in the the Registration ID, and as I don't have an Ignition key (?) I use the Product Key, but this returns an error! Do I need to convert my Product Key into an Ignition Key?
