Hi,
I want to learn more about torque XD, I was investigating a little about what books can help me in recent torque 3.6+ but I don't know...
I don't care if the book is not complete, bad, old or whatever xD for me I'm looking to learn new stuff for torque... scripting, new stuff to have new ideas (creativity), new workflow, new tricks...
In my research found these books, are good? what other books can help me for my purpose?
- The Game Programmer's Guide to Torque: Under the Hood of the Torque Game Engine April 15, 2006
by Edward F. Maurina III
- Torque for Teens - 2nd Edition - July 16, 2010 by Michael Duggan
- 3D Game Programming All in One, Third Edition - December 3, 2012 by Kenneth C Finney
- Advanced 3D Game Programming All in One - August 24, 2005 by Kenneth C Finney
- Creating Game Art for 3D Engines - September 21, 2007 by Brad Strong
- Torque 3D Game Development Cookbook - Jan 25, 2013 by David Wyand
- Multiplayer Gaming and Engine Coding for the Torque Game Engine - May 9, 2008 by Edward F. Maurina

@Jason, where can I find the "errata" of the book "3D Game Programming All in One, Third Edition", exists somewhere?

Holds a lot about AI and even other scripting goodies as well. It also takes you into some online services(you will see some PHP and Apache stuff... Expect the PHP to be a little outdated here). :O)

Dwarf King is right about A3D GPaiO. There are also great chapters on making breakable windows and destructible items as well as interactive AI and implementing LOD in your models. I used his swinging doors in my first project.

I wish that it did exist. I attempted to email Ken but never received a reply. He seems to be MIA. Sorry. Dwarf King is right about A3D GPaiO. Are you in the United States? If so, Amazon has Used for $6.00, says sealed CD, look at "P and W Books". All but two of my Torque Books are used.www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/1592007333/ref=dp_olp_used?ie=UTF8&condition...

Well I can't find a listing that says it has a CD for certain. It's a good read even without it. The CD does have some Frogames models on it. Kinda cool. I don't know what books you own but I would do GPG2T and Torque For Teens first then 3DGPaiONE then do the more advanced ones.

Yes about Creating Game Art for 3D Engines, I have a copy of that too. I didn't mention it because it is very specific. It deals with 3D Max 8, I think TGE 1.5.2 and Photoshop. However, Brad Strong does a great job of cramming a lot of info into a relatively small book. It is a no-nonsense guide to creating an organic character(Human), a robot and a gun. It goes through how to UV-Unwrap, rig, skin and weight the meshes, then it covers exporting to Torque and even some TorqueScript. I have only read it and haven't delved into the CD but I should since art is what I'm trying to learn right now.
Regardless, this book is a bargain at $3.95 w/cd look at the seller sonya072980

I have never heard of "Maximum Torque" and I think it was never released but I could be wrong.
The only book you haven't mentioned is The Complete Guide to Torque X but that I think is XBOX 360 specific.
