Animation Exporting Problems

by Ryan Janac · in Technical Issues · 11/25/2014 (10:49 am) · 1 replies

Basic summary: my animations that get exported for Torque are rotated and translating with my hip control. I have used this rig before with other animations and it hasn't had this problem.

I am animating withing 3DS Max and have the animation all set up. Everything is facing the correct way, there is no 90 degree flips to worry about. I'm using a rig that has worked within Torque before but when I exported this animation into torque the entire character is rotated and translated with the hip control. I tried saving my animations and bringing it onto a fresh rig but the same thing still happens. When I delete the animations off the hip, and bring it back to its regular position the entire rig is flipped back to normal (though it doesn't have the hip animations that I need).
Does anyone know how to fix this problem or what it's called? Everything looks fine in Max, but not in Torque.

I'm exporting dsq files

Hey Ryan,

You could try using DTS instead of DSQ for animations by opening your FBX file (Max) to Blender and converting it to DAE then DTS in Editor. From experience, I have much success converting assets from Blender to Torque DTS with minimal adjustments in the Shape Editor.
