I have an idea.

I have an idea... but i am an extremely new programmer and id like to see this made before i grow old and die. Also this is a project that, if done right, couldn't be made by just one person.
The basic plan: an RTS game, with FPS players in a giant MMO world. The RTS players are essentially directors for the NPC armies doing their thing, while players do their things. whatever they want to do anyways.
The setting: A (mostly) desert like planet. the majority of the planet along the equator at least. There are a number of groups attempting to extend their influence to this world. permanently. for various reasons.
The mechanics for the RTS controller: they are in a bunker, they can move their general around via FPS controls. they can view their troops in different ways depending on what race they are. IE: cameras, and the first person views of their bots. They have satellites that can be constructed and launched into geosynchronous orbit if their tech level is high enough. other wise line of sight is the name of the game. Squads cna be formed, but if they are under attack the will attempt to seek cover/scatter and will generally ignore most orders other than a direct order to retreat. when in combat they will behave as individual entities in an FPS match.
FPS mechanics: ALL troops use subsystem damage rather than wimpy health bars. Soldiers can and will miss. they will miss often if they are unskilled/stressed. this way FPS players can take out armies, and still be one shotted across the map by lucky NPC rather than an fps player being bored and trading his with a robot. i want the FPS portion to play like an FPS.
The groups:
The Generic Empire. A human group with high technology, but few soldiers. each of their soldiers is essentially a miniboss. they get more soldiers based on how 'successful' they are. meaning K/d ratio of their soldiers to enemies, bases controlled. resources collected. They specialize in close-medium range combat. they use their speed, strength, and technology to over power all they come across. All troops carry helmet cams and have built in radios. they ill retreat if they are under significant stress on their own without orders. not always a bad thing. they are attempting to colonize the planet. and they want it in one piece.
The Scellorrians: A phsycic race of aliens. High level of technology. their primary source of fire power are energy weapons. they are unafraid of death, becuase they reincarnate when they die due to being linked with all other scelorrians in the 'Under mind'. there are scellorians that become sentient, and reincarnate(players) to an NPC of their choice. (as long as it isnt under the employment of a general) their unit additions are based on how much 'phsyconium' they mine. a material necessary for the creation of new bodies. phsyconium can be scavenged form dead scellorrians with a 90% efficiency rating. They use their psychic abilities to find and order their troops like a classic fog of war situation. they can see in the first person view of a scelorian soldier and temporarily exert direct control. they use LOTS of troops. they are unafraid to march to their death. this isn't always a good thing but they will not retreat unless ordered too. their psychic abilities are viable weapons up close-med range if they have the right specs (scellorinas are specifically designed to do different things like warrior engineer assassin and whatnot) their primary goal is the mining of pshyconium and the immidiate evacuation of the planet afterwards.
The robots: Heavy, slow, incredible firepower, amazing armor. all words that can describe them. they use cameras, and the first person views of their bots to see what is hapening They have satellites that can be constructed and launched into geosynchronous orbit. they have humanoid, giant walker bots, and drones of many types. the 'AI' can directly control a robot indefinetley, but this obviously hinders their ability to manage their army. numbers and fire power are the name of the game. they will do nothing that they arent ordered too other than defend their position. their forces must be built with the materials at hand, or requested in from the primary drop point(spawn that all robot players start in) they are attempting to defend themselves and achieve their primary objective: which is unknown to all.
The scavengers: a group of humans relying on unorthodox tactics. they are effective at all ranges of combat, but do best with very long or very close range. They can be ordered to fire at specific points even if they see no enemies by a general. (other races will ignore these orders) this can be used to shoot through doors/walls. they can scavenge and create turrets, pipe bombs, other various explosives, and scrap heap armor. they can hack into vehicles and sabotage them, or attempt to take them for their own. they are excellent snipers. ALL scavengers have 'cloaks' that will help them remain undetected while staying still. it molds with the environment around it and mimics the textures. it is ineffective indoors. it also looks really fucking cool. their troop recruitment require they gather food and water. they cannot order specific troops. troops will simply 'show up' when they have an excess of food and water supplies. the only way to order them is to have a scavenger with a radio. the only way to see what is happening is through cameras or by line of sight. a few scavengers have weapon cams. their technology is fairly weak compared to others. they rely on these tactics to deceive the enemy. If they go a period of time without orders and have no standing orders to follow, they will perform various tasks around the base, go on patrol, or talk to others. they are undisciplined rabble, but they are YOUR undisciplined rabble. if they are under signifigant stress they will atempt to run and hide, and try to ambush their opponent later. Not always a good/bad thing. they want a home, and they have no place to go.
chimera: a group of humans that had been experimented on and left in the wild. they are half human/animals of various forms. they come from the north. they HEAVILY specialize in close range combat. their immense physicle strength, speed, and numbers makes up for their apparent lack of technology. the general can only order from line of sight. find a high place and hope a headhunter doesn't spot you. they get more warriors peridically as they migrate form the north and encounter war band generals. Your objective is too root out the invaders of your new home before they spread too far north. their health and damage are immense, their speed is incredible. they use these tactics to smash whoever they cna reach. Zerg rushing is not however, a vialbe tatcic. their numbers get more limited as they travel father. braver than most humans, but they can and will run if they are facign too many opponents at too far a distance. they attempt to dodge bullets as they run up on you.
The Corruption: pooosibly an unplayable faction unless you are a premium account member. A zerg rushing, deceiving group of mutants. thy have shape changers, and dead space style mutants. they can infect and change humans/any organic material into themselves. they have little to no technology, but they have a semi physic link. the leader can order them around while viewing one of them in first person from miles away. shape changers can turn into humans and walk among them as one of theirs. they are attempting to destroy everything.
I've got some other ideas for it buuut id like to see what people think so far. this would be a F2P game, not a P2W, but a pay for variety. premiums get access to customized colors/ banner/ wahtever for their armies. FPS premiums get cooler looking gear and more of it. You must leave a will to your ;next in ki' they will receive most of your stored stuff when you die. (you must design your succesor before hand) id like an extensive creation system. And custumization of yor armies/squads/persons looks.
