What section to display code in?

Hi GG community,
It's been a while.
I am interested in doing an analysis of torque source code from the editions (all the ones I purchased) that were released before the open source changeover.
It primarily a learning experiment for myself but the documentation at the end may be helpful for both employment/education purposes.
Are the restrictions placed upon sharing source code from previous editions of torque game engine still the same as before?
Can I share the documentation during interviews or use for an academic pursuit?
The main reason would be to illustrate my understanding of all elements from the ground up. I'm a big fan of retro technology and more importantly learning from it.

The private forum for each particular engine would probably be ok, or am I missing something?

Well that, but isn't there a "fair use" rule for copyrighted works in publications? The private forum for each particular engine would probably be ok, or am I missing something?

I have invested so much in learning the previous versions over the years that I want to ensure I gained all the nuggets of knowledge available before moving on to the MIT versions. The opportunity to learn what to do and more importantly what not to do is something not to be missed. If I want to illustrate my complete understanding I would like to include all possible resources. Using the MIT versions only will limit my own learning and leaves something lost in translation through the timeline of TGE 1.4.2 to Torque3d 3.?
I would love to be in a position to contribute but that's not going to happen until I get a full understanding of it's evolution. I care about it and want to give the deserved respect to the tomes of knowledge that the engines are.
The MIT versions can understood later on the line. This makes a more worthwhile journey.
@Richard
Fair use? I hope so but I don't know how it would to me using snippets I had developed that are related to the source code of an older engine version which I have paid for.
"The private forum for each particular engine would probably be ok, or am I missing something?" - This would be okay but I can't really show any work performed to an employer or university professor for assessment now can I?

And if you just want to show employers or professors for assessment purposes why not show them the whole thing? They're not going to publish pirate games with it.
My favorite (and probably the most relevant portion) of that article is this:

If it's your own code then I don't see how anyone could object. In cases where you want to show context (where you use your code in use with the engine code), fair use would come into play:http://www.copyright.gov/fls/fl102.html

Best of luck and let us know how it goes - if it's not private, you know...
