My community project
by Yue -Rookie Torque 3D- · in General Discussion · 09/12/2013 (8:58 am) · 21 replies
These days learning about games garage products, and Spanish absence Jan documentation for ignorant like me, I've thought about building a community garage product for speaking games.
The question that I have about it, you can do this project using the official documentation and making a Spanish translation? and use the software provided as torque 3d.
A greeting.

I keep getting told that GG has 0 responsibility for anything T3D related anymore and that it is the community that has the sole responsibility for adding and maintaining anything.

However the documentation is hosted on GG.com and I don't think it has any license listed on them so untill GG comes with an official statement about the documentation, it's better to ask before you act.

@Bloodknight haha yeah it can be confusing at times. Basically, everything on GitHub is under MIT license which means it has nothing to do with GG anymore, it is now a community project. However the documentation is hosted on GG.com and I don't think it has any license listed on them so untill GG comes with an official statement about the documentation, it's better to ask before you act.

On the T3D engine mit license, I can do anything, as building community, manuals, etc?

Then I can create a Spanish-speaking community of torque 3d?, Take official documentation translated into Spanish or fragments thereof? or in this case Spanish tutorials create derivatives of the official documentation? On the T3D engine mit license, I can do anything, as building community, manuals, etc?

you made me laugh with that engine super Yue, the case is not that the idea is to create a community that recognizes 3d torque as it is attentive to changes in garage games, my goal is to share and disseminate Spanish language knowledge and many users like me who do not speak English have some corner to get started in this.

The T3D FPS Tutorial repository is probably more up-to-date than the documentation on GG's site at http://www.garagegames.com/products/torque-3d/fps#/1-setup/1.
So Spanish translations of these sets of documents would be your best place to start. Fork it, branch it and start translating. Google Translate might do ok with it - there are some spots where lingo is a little thick but for the most part it's all pretty plain.
If you want anything pushed back up to GG's copy of these document sets on their site then someone at GG has to review, approve and make the update. I don't think it would be impossible, but they're pretty busy with other work and it might take a while to trickle through.

The T3D Documentation repository on GitHub (the one Lukas just linked) is virtually identical to the documentation hosted on GG's site at http://www.garagegames.com/products/torque-3d/documentation.The T3D FPS Tutorial repository is probably more up-to-date than the documentation on GG's site at http://www.garagegames.com/products/torque-3d/fps#/1-setup/1.
