Torque 3D PRO license after MIT

Hello I haven't been on here in a while but I caught wind of Torque 3D going open source with the MIT license. I purchased 3D Pro back when it was only $99 does this mean now that I basically wasted my money on a licence after Torque went open source?

Still learning and working on it actually hah. I'm more concerned if the license changed on the copy I have? It's Torque 3D PRO 1.1 if I bought and downloaded it when it was under the old license does that mean it automatically transfers to the MIT one now?

You are only bound by the MIT license if you use the MIT code/releases.

If you have a Pro license you may use those releases under the license terms they where at the time. You are only bound by the MIT license if you use the MIT code/releases.

Correct - if you port your stuff to the new version it's under the new license terms. If you publish with your original codebase it's under those terms.

The MIT license and version is really the way to go.

However, the MIT license is much, much more liberal with what you can do with the engine than the pro license was. Under MIT, you can use it for any purpose whatsoever, port to any platform you like, not have to show a splash screen, not worry about whether people on your team have the same license you do, etc.The MIT license and version is really the way to go.

Heh yeah that does sound quite a bit more amazing. Probably should of educated myself more on the MIT one. Can't help but to still show a garagegames logo somewhere for your guys awesome work and open source collaboration.

Yeah, I almost feel obligated to do that for my projects as well ;)
