Quick question: Torque vs Stencyl

So, as i understand it, Stencyl requires a yearly subscription fee for their software and Apple requires a yearly subscription to publish to the App Store.
I find this absolutely ridiculous!
I have Torque 2d now (and have for about a year now) and ive fiddled around here and there (im a pretty busy guy).
My question would be, with Torque 2d, are there any other "hidden" fees im not aware of in order to publish a finished game to, say, Kongregate or Newgrounds for example?
Thanks in advance!

The upper limit Lukas is referring to is the revenue per year cap on the license, which with the new license we rolled out last year only applies to Non-Games now and the cap was raised to $500,000. If you were to make a Non-Game, as defined in the EULA, and were to make over $500,000 in a year then you would need to contact our licensing dept to upgrade your license.

I don't expect to make much money on the game I plan on making, but it would be nice to know what I can max out at.
Thanks for your reply, Scott!

There is not a cap now for games.

Last question:
Are there "instructions" on this site or in the FAQs that says how to submit your finished game to other websites?
Thanks again everyone!!

Each portal has its own requirements. You should look at your targets and find out their submission policies.

I'd love to know the list of games that made over 200k using Torque.

I would guess that would be one that went way over the 200K mark. I am sure there are others, but they are private companies and have no requirements for publishing data about their finances. Only publicly traded companies are required to do that.

What was the name of the game that was made out of blocks and was built with TGE. It was an MMOG for kids I think. I saw a blurb a while back that they were going to use T3D to build the next version.I would guess that would be one that went way over the 200K mark. I am sure there are others, but they are private companies and have no requirements for publishing data about their finances. Only publicly traded companies are required to do that.

I can't tell you if there is any hidden fees from Kongregate or Newgrounds. But for Torque, there is only the upper limit on how much you may earn before you need a commercial license, and maybe some license issues if you want to use it for things besides games.
