Need some feedback on difficulty of a project. 3DMax

I'm looking at getting some free royalty free animated models from turbosquid but do not have 3dMax. I don't need modeling or animations done but what I need is someone who can render out the animation from a top down perspective so I can have animated sprites of 3d models. I believe thats what GG did with the soldier models in iTorque 1.5 I know I can do this sort of thing in lightwave in two seconds. Just want to know how much time and difficulty this would be for someone using 3DMax?

Definitely looks like something I will use in the future. I don't see this helping me with Max files though. My problem is I don't have Max and was going to get some low cost models and have someone export the sprites animations for me.

If the models/animations are all set, it should be a breeze. You just have to select top view and render out each frame. You would want to specify how close you want it and what file format(I'm assuming .png?).

EXAMPLE: Pardon my rough business card, "walk" animation.

I rendered out each frame from 3ds Max and imported them into photoshop to make the animated gif.
