Can I get an update or pointed to a location where you update the release date for this?
I'm anxiously waiting.

2D/3D Engine bug fixes
2D/3D New Developer Documentation
3D Billboards
Xbox Live Avatars
Ocean 3D scene object
3D beach demo
I'm anxiously waiting.

Tsk, tsk, Trent. Your realistic (h)expectations will only get people into trouble.

The main update I'm waiting for is the multiplayer one, estimated for release July 2011. I really don't wanna know how long I'm actually going to have to wait for it..

@zoid: For the xbox or pc? If that's all you're waiting on it may be worth you trying to either a) implement one yourself or b) integrate lidgren or something similar (if it's PC based).

Truly frustrating, I need the avatar support for my project...

For the xbox. It's nothing serious, just hobbyist stuff with no solid future plans at the moment, so I'm in no rush (and I'm working on different things in the mean-time). It's just a little annoying seeing TX3D in it's current state.

Oh I feel your pain. I'm waiting on dynamic materials in code. I could change the code myself, but that's just more stuff I need to recode when the next version comes out given that John said he's doing that already. TX needs a lot more love.

I imagine one of the priorities for the new team would be to update TorqueX to use XNA 4.0.

Having the TorqueX headcount go from 1 to 7 will be a real step up. That said, it takes time for new hires / reallocations to come up to speed. My hope is for a new roadmap to be announced, and then we can set our expectations for subsequent releases. I would not expect 3.2.1 to be tossed over the wall ahead of the roadmap. All of this is just speculation on my part. I imagine one of the priorities for the new team would be to update TorqueX to use XNA 4.0.

1) We are planning a new release of Torque X 3D and 2D at the end of June. I still have to dig into what was promised versus what will be delivered but we are focusing on performance and bug fixes for the engine and the editor. I will be doing a blog post in the next day or so that covers the next release.
2) We have some cool plans regarding where we want to take Torque X. As we get closer to this next release I will write a blog the gives as much detail as I can on where we are heading.

I just downloaded torquex3DFull-3.1.4.0.msi (172 MB). The same file name I got in December 2009 which was only 83.7 MB?
And the About says 2.1 (the 84.7 one). I'm gonna install the 172 MB one to see if there's a difference.
I never understood this version system. Anyone care to explain?
Thanks

Personally I want to know what happened to 3.2.0. And now that I mention it, 3.1.5, 3.1.6, 3.1.7, 3.1.8 and 3.1.9.
