Ok, I've been setting at home to long now. I've forgotten what day of the week it is unless someone mentions it, or my phone tells me I have an upcomming meeting, etc.

Davis stop talking to your phone.

(The only disadvantage to working at home - even though my wife is here, she works 3rd shift and goes to school 1st shift. Which means, when she's physically here 75% of the time I'm still without anyone to talk to in person. I never realized isolation could become an issue!)
My precious phone... just ignore the bad man... he'll go away...
;-)

Leave me alone, John - my phone is the only thing that talks to me during the day. Sometimes there's a person on the other end of it, sometimes there isn't. But at least it's something is talking to me! ;-)(The only disadvantage to working at home - even though my wife is here, she works 3rd shift and goes to school 1st shift. I am working from home today as well.
took the afternoon off.
Major pull this weekend at home.
adding multitextured mesh's to the exporter.
then to the renderer. (yuck)
messing up my beautiful system with the ugly need for indices set's for each material.

Badguy: Next beta probably a month and a half from now (this one focuses entirely on multi-player experience, the next one handles the rest of it plus a new UI). But, I've also got a top-secret whiz-bang project to do real quick, along with financial work to do. No rest for the wicked ;-)

Cuz I have to be in Portland to get my car inspected.

good to see someone get some work done!!
:)
I've been porting an exhisting product into a more scalable engine.
I'm building an engine for developing modular games that plug into the engine via a dll.
it has an sdk other developers can use to make products for it.
working good so far.
Ben:
the question is: Will it Pass?
.. heh I remember I took my car to air-care once.
a 1972 Cuda' heh..
I pulled the accelerator pump assembly apart and loosened the manifolds.
heh it was Barely running when I brought it in.
was funny.. passed aircare with flying colors.
pulled out front of the building put the accelerator back together. you could hear the engine gain a new life.
heh was awesome.. I Pimped the system.
im such a good consumer.. doing my best to add my pollution to society.

It should still be thursday. My groups project came to a screeching halt this week. Turns out GG is making the exact same thing. Only better in all likely hood. We are coming up with new ideas, but we want something we can do on a short development cycle, so that we can get something out there, and get our feet wet in development.
Its insane, but everytime we start a project, either someone is already making it, or we run into an expensive wall. Like that new super hero game thats coming out? We spent 8 months developing a game almost EXACTLY like it, only for Mike to go out, pick up a copy of PC Gamer, and faint. Bastards. Wish I could claim they stole our idea, but, in all likely hood, one of our team overheard something about it, then he didn't realize he heard it, and thougt it was a good idea, talk us into it, and wasted 8 months of our lives.
And, then we had been working on a kinigolf game since december, only to here that GG was working on one, and th have the guy (Jeff I believe) who created 3D Ultra Mini golf. Which is only the best minigolf game ever made! I mean freaking A, cut us a break every once in a while.
So now, the most likely title we wanna work on is a Go-Cart racing game, like the ones we had as kids. But, Im not sure how that would be accepted, and so if you could give me some feedback here: Click Here So, since I can't turn back time, well atleast I don't think I can... Hmmm should consult with the guys at Microsoft, I believe they lobbied congress to get the ability to do that banned.... it had something to do with the EVILS of Open Source. Thanks Microsoft. I realize that this has kinda turned into a rant / ramble, but this is still America, and I can type what I damn well please. ;)
Oh Ah Oh... An idea is coming to me: What about a game, where you are killed by your best friend, and you go to hell. (cartoony environment) you wake up, and satan gives you a chance to make your way back to the surface of eart, and seek revenge. Since your in hell, you start out as a skeleton, but as you make your way to the surface, your organs, then your muscles, and finally your skin and clothes come back... Cool eh? Well, along your way you fight demons, fire spirits, worms, snakes scorpions, all sorts of creepies. then you reach the surface, make your way throught the pirate villiage, and find and kill your old friend who killed you. The end.
Well, i'm think it's very original, and since there is no other game out theere like it, it could go over as an indie game really well...
Oops, I think I have hiacked this thread long enough, and I realize that I -technicaly- should have used like 3 other forums for all this, but I'm done now, so for give me.
Good Night all,

I'm missing something: why are you stopping projects that far in just because someone else is doing something similar? 8 months is a lot of effort just to drop it.
04/29/2004 (11:45 pm)
Friday is great - the Trajectory Zone beta is cruzin' along, found pleanty o' bugs (I'd be more worried if there weren't any bugs found), and have swatted pleanty o' bugs. Money got caughed up this week, and another customer is paying up next week, and yet another after that. Now have two projects that I've been discussing prototyping for a contractor (one a sure thing, and the other a "almost" sure thing) Life is good... :-)I'm missing something: why are you stopping projects that far in just because someone else is doing something similar? 8 months is a lot of effort just to drop it.

My most sincere congradulations on Trajectory Zone, it looks awesome. And, it's always nice to have money...
04/29/2004 (11:54 pm)
Well, since you asked: In all honesty blaming it wholy on the other game is a cop-out. It also amounts to the fact that based on what we have so far completed in 8 months, to finish it at a simialar rate we would be working on it for roughly 2 more years. lol. Can't have that. And besides, what we have done so far is mostly models textures, stuff like that. we have all 14 characters, thier rides, and only about 20% of the city done. Problem is, we haven't even touched the code, and we need to make a TON of changes. Simply put, It to big of a project. We cut our loses, and will be using the city and models in what ever we do next. Hell, our first mini-golf level was a roof top of one of the buildings from th previos project. Enough about our crap.My most sincere congradulations on Trajectory Zone, it looks awesome. And, it's always nice to have money...

Woot! :)
well just had my 1yr review.
seems my work exceeds expectations.
the company stands to make horde's of cash.
I was thinking last night.
that the game im making will churn More Money than Any other game Ever made ..
wow!
seriously.
it might take a couple years.
but it will..
Amazing.
realize this money does not come to the developer as it is a gambling product.
But..
the cash turnover is huge.
Im not sure if im allowed to share the current figures.
i'll look into it and anyone interested can check here for a followup.
Edit:
sry guys.
Indeed trajectory Zone is kick ass
and Clutch kudo's for you bro
good work moving on and making a choice.
now you just have to take all that stuff and fit it into something new! :)
