Torque Game Engine 1.5 Upgrade from TGE 1.4 (or earlier)

As we stated there would be upon the release of TGE 1.4, there is a cost associated with upgrading to version 1.5: the base price of TGE has also increased with this upgrade. As many of you are aware, we have upgraded TGE free for five years, with no increase to the base price, incidentaly; that's longer than just about any major software product in the world, and we've added or modified tens of thousands of lines of code in that time, provided thousands and thousands of pages of new documentation and tutorials, expanded our compatibility and stability, improved performance, added major features, and more.

After reading through the added features, we hope you'll agree that the new version is well worth the added cost, but; if you can't afford to upgrade right away, don't worry-- as an existing TGE owner you can still download all of the most recent bug fixes we've done for free via your "My Account" page, as TGE version 1.4.2. In fact, new users are still be able to purchase TGE 1.4.2 at the original $100.

Users who purchased TGE between August 1, 2006 and October 25, 2006 should have received the upgrade to 1.5 for free: It should show up as an available download on your "My Account" page, however; if you purchased TGE between August 1, 2006 and October 25, 2006 and do not have the TGE 1.5 download in your account, please email support@garagegames.com.

"If I buy (or upgrade to) TGE 1.5, when will the price increase again?"

We will not charge for an upgrade to any of our core engines more often than once per year. That means no cost to upgrade TGE until at least September 2007. And we would like to emphasize that this does NOT mean we will stop working on the engine in the meantime.
