The Stryker IAV Content Pack

A product of 21st Century Systems, Inc. (21CSI), a Department of Defense Small Business Innovative Research company, the Stryker IAV Content Pack contains an advanced example of how to create and use wheeled vehicles in Torque Game and Torque Game Engine Advanced games or simulations. It will act as a guide for developers on your project tasked with creating network/multi-player friendly vehicles with functionality above and beyond that of the default "starter.racing" buggy. All Stryker IAV Content Pack functionality is easily extendable to any other vehicle type.

Easy Integration
The Stryker IAV Content pack is provided in two separate configurations (TGE and TGEA) to make drag and drop installation in clean installs of both development environments possible. The directory structure of the provided files also makes file compares and integration into modified versions of each environment as painless as possible.

Easy Modification
For artists, the Stryker IAV Content Pack will act as a guide in learning how to design, texture, rig, and animate a wheeled vehicle model for use in either your Torque Game or Torque Game Engine Advanced based project. Complete source geometries, textures, riggings, and animations are provided in both 3D Studio Max v8 (.max) and Blender (.blend) formats for ease of use within both large and small budget development houses. Complete layered Photoshop (.psd) files are also provided for all five default skin types of the Stryker IAV to allow artists the freedom to modify and/or extend existing skins, or to use them as templates in creating entirely new ones to meet the specific needs of their project.

For programmers, the Stryker IAV Content pack contains several C++ engine modifications and scripts which demonstrate several engine features for attaching weapons, lights, mounted objects, mounted images, animations, advanced explosions, debris, skins, and per mount node actionMaps to your vehicles.

Step by step installation instructions and line by line C++ engine modifications are provided in the documentation.

Features

  • Source Art - Geometry and Textures. Geometry and animations provided in 3D Studio Max (.max (v8)) and Blender (.blend) formats. Textures provided as .png (runtime) and Photoshop .psd source files with layers to allow the user to easily modify existing or to create entirely new Stryker IAV skins.

  • Required engine C++ source code and script modifications/additions to base TGE and TGEA SDK installations for easy incorporation into your project.

  • Five example runtime swappable custom skins: UN, S.W.A.T., Forest Camouflage, Flat Army Green, and Sand Camouflage.

  • TGEA install includes a custom "ModBase" example game directory with custom garage model.

  • Example of how to create and incorporate per mount node action maps and poses. The Stryker IAV includes 10 player mountable nodes (0-9) with associated individual action maps. For example, if no gunner is mounted then a player at a different position can have access to firing the weapon associated with the gunner's mount, and if a gunner is mounted then control of that weapon defaults to gunner only.

  • Stryker IAV is completely destroyable and includes associated destruction explosions and debris examples.

  • Three complete Levels of Detail.

  • Complete 8-wheel suspension setup.

  • All doors and hatches are animated.

  • Working headlights and brake lights.

  • Example environmental explosions and weapon projectiles.

  • Working vehicle-mounted 105mm cannon or .50 cal machine gun.

  • Vehicle mounted accessories (Slat Armor and Plow).

  • Several default Stryker IAV configurations easily extendable and modifiable.

"This is a very detailed piece of work. I had trouble getting the pack model in game but I coontacted the top notch support and they responded within hours. The maps, models, and scripts alone make this worth the money, not to mention the pre compiled .dts' can be loaded quickly into any game and they look awsome.

Thanks for a great product and keep up the great work!"
