Quark Video Tutorials

by Sim9 · 05/02/2005 (5:22 pm) · 11 comments

These three video tutorials were orginally created to help my community submit custom content for our upcoming Torque-based project, SimWorld. Since there is very little changed in the interior creation process, I think these three video tutorials will be helpful to the Torque community as well.

The videos are hosted on The Archive due to the 80 meg file size and the original target audience.

You will need the XVid codec or MPlayer to watch these videos.

Here is a nice pack of three video tutorials to help you learn how to make interior structures for SimWorld and other Torque based games using the Quark editor. There are three video tutorials included, each on a different topic:

Quark1.avi - Part 1 - Teaches how to set up Quark for SimWorld and other Torque based games.
Quark2.avi - Part 2 - Teaches some basic Quark operations like: creating and moving brushes, negative brushes, duplicators, and texture assignment.
Quark3.avi - Part 3 - Teaches how to export from Quark into SimWorld.

The video link seems to be dead.

As an alternative to QuArK, has anyone tried the toolbox software or the plugins from www.greenbriarstudio.com/3D I'm trying to find out if they will allow me to use Lightwave to create interior geometry, as that would be quite nice!

The Toolbox feature list, check the torque stuff:

Lesson two seems to be corrupt. I have downloaded it twice from both FTP and HTTP and keep getting a zip error.

I just downloaded it right now to test, I'm not having any trouble. I'm using WinRAR to unzip it -- which client are you using?

If you don't see video, you probably don't have the XVID codec installed. Download the XVID codec, or even better, install MPlayer or VLC Media Player :)
