Files:
First of all you need CrossOver (as of September 01, 2006 in a beta stage), grab it here.
Second you will need, Quark program and the appropriate map to DIF converter:
Quark is here and the map2dif here.
Current Quark version is: quark-win32-6.5.0alpha8.exe
Installation:
Quark:
1) Quark comes as an .exe file. Drag it wherever ou want.
CrossOver:
1) Uncompress CrossOver and drag it wherever you want. You will need either to have X11 installed or the appropriate Mac OS 10 installation CD #1 nearby as one component is requested to complete install, so get it right now.
2) skip messages with right answers.
3) in the menu bar: /configure/install software
4) click on Install Unsupported Software and on the next screen Continue
5) Select New Bottle and then Create and Install Bottle
6)Name it with a smart name and selext Windows OS you want CrossOver to emulate (my Bottle config. is with Windows 2000)
7) hit create
8) select choose installer file then continue and point to the Quark executable.
9) Wait until the process is finished. Quark is now in the menu bar Programs.
10) Download python http://www.python.org/ftp/python/2.5/python-2.5.msi and install into the same bottle as Quark (added 2007-01-31, thanks to Jason Granum)
You can launch it by selecting Prgrams/Quark/Quark
End of CrossOver configuration.
Quark setup
If you are as unfamiliar with Quark as I was, here are the first steps to have it working.
1) Once you have launched Quark through CrossOver, you got a window named Quark Explorer. In the right popup menu named Games select Torque.
2) In the edit menu select configuration and then list the game until you locate Torque.
3) change Directory of Torque Files with the correct path to your Torque folder. Use the 3 points (...) on the right to open the selection window and graphically navigate through your hard drive.
4) Install the map2dif converter in your Torque folder by dragging the whole folder. Mine is at the root level of the Torque Folder.
5) Now in the build programs execution sequence part of the configuration, replace every path to map2dif_DEBUG with the correct one. Again, use the ... to navigate to the converter.
There are 7 changes to be made. All with the same settings.
6) Validate changes with Apply and then OK. (I did not try "Ok" first, you can).
7) Close Quark from its own menu "File" (not the Apple's CrossOver one) and save changes on request.
8) Launch Quark again and voila
[i]Added 2007-01-31: I personally ran into corrupted QuArk's configuration file each time I make modifications.
Please report issues if any.

BTW, I had a nearly positive result with anim8tor, there are some glitches with the display and the menubar is missing, but it overall works.

CodeWeavers do not recommend to add more than one app in a bottle for some compatibility issues. Using unsupported software I've been unsuccessfull each time I attempted to add more than one app (compatibility troubles with CrossOver).BTW, I had a nearly positive result with anim8tor, there are some glitches with the display and the menubar is missing, but it overall works.

I'm having a problem with doing this on my macbook pro :( The install runs great but when I run Quark I get a Quark Python window and an X window thats blank (just a black window). Has anyone else run into this and found a way to get it to work?

A step is missing in the crossover section:
10) Download python http://www.python.org/ftp/python/2.5/python-2.5.msi and install into the same bottle as Quark
After Python is installed into CrossOver so that Quark can use it it works.
Thanks for this howto!
