Any Torque X community members going to be at PAX?

Hey all,
Just got my PAX badge today. Was wondering if anyone else from the TX community would be attending?

Would love to but I have a prior commitment to be at a wedding. One of my development partners will be there though. Next year for sure!

Well, that sucks, but is good as well. More in the timing. Next year then!

You live in the Seattle area?

Nope, I'm flying in from basically Phoenix, Arizona.

That's quite the trek. Where you staying in Seattle? I might be able to give you a few restaurants to check out or something.

Well, I'd agree with you that it's a long trip, but there's people from the other side of the world going so I guess it's not that bad. As far as the hotel, I'll have to double check when I get home but I'm pretty sure the hotel is across the street from the convention center. I know it's definitely in walking distance. If you got any insider advice on places to check out that aren't too far, I'd be happy to hear it. :)

I think you'll find the downtown of Seattle isn't really all that big, just a tad hilly in spots.

If you like pizza I would check out the Alibi Room. The Goat Cheese, Prosciutto, & Arugula is quite nice.

Serious Pie is also supposed to be quite good but I haven't had a chance to get in there yet.

B & O Espresso is great breakfast/brunch place. I really like the Eggs Benedict with a cappuccino.

If you're in the mood for beer the Elysian Brewing Co. has a brewpub on Capitol Hill.

Aside from food there are the usual touristy things like the Public Market, the Space Needle, the first Starbucks in the public market seems to be really popular for some reason, and the Seattle Underground. There is also the Experience Music Project|Science Fiction Museum.

Nice, I'll probably have to check some out. I'll definitely try to hit some of those while I'm up there.

So far have checked out The Taphouse and The Steelhead Diner. Pretty good stuff. Spent the entire day going to panels so haven't seen much of the expo itself. If any TX Community Members are present and want to meet up, let me know.

Forgot about the Taphouse, that place is pretty good. Dude, I'm bummed I can't be there. Some friends are staying at my place so they can go while I'm out of town for a wedding. Next year I guess. Also looking into GDC, when is that?
