Export Animations from Maya to T3D

Hi,
I need to know how to setup and export a simple animation/animations from Maya 2009 to T3D without using the DTS Utility. Step by step if someone knows please explain.
Specifically I need to know what the nodes are and their naming conventions, etc... I know the name of the animation should look like:
Sequence_name
How do we attach the animation to the sequence and where do you tell the start of the animation and the end of the animation?
Isn't it defined in the nodes (empty groups)?
Thanks! :)

Any suggestions/help would be greatly appreciated. I tried using the maya2dts Exporter but it appears to be broken as it doesn't load into Maya 2010.

Hi mb, did you ever get this resolved? I'm new to T3D and would like to learn how to export animated meshes from Maya (i'm using version 2010 64bit).Any suggestions/help would be greatly appreciated. I tried using the maya2dts Exporter but it appears to be broken as it doesn't load into Maya 2010.

the only available way to export animated mesh without using a dts exporter is to export it as *.DAE (COLLADA). Once exported all the animations of the shape will appear as one sequence in T3D. To split it up into several sequences instead of being just one you must create new sequences from the common(huge) one. This can be done in the T3D's Shape Editor. In the documentation it is explained how to use it.
