IFL speed

I can't seem to find much info on ifl's...
How do you control the speed with which they play? I have a 5 image list, and the model has 5 frames. The animation plays much too fast ingame.

Your images MUST be played at one frame a second.
Maybe set your animation frames to 10, and then each image to 2. And if that's too fast, repeat with higher numbers.

Oh, you're going to want more than 5 frames.Your images MUST be played at one frame a second.

I have never found that I MUST play a frame a second. On the contrary I once stuffed 40 images into about 8 seconds and played fine. Just make sure you set "Use Frame Rate" to 5 and check Overide duration then enter the amount of time you want it to play.
I answered your post in the MODS section about the same Model, I think. I haven't been down there to check it.

You can set the time of animation no matter how many frames are in it. Its called "Override Duration". Its in the General control for the sequence helper. Basically if you have the IFL set for 5 frames and you want them to play a frame a second then you can set it for 5 seconds. Its that easy.I have never found that I MUST play a frame a second. this might sound like a complete newbie questions, but I've been wondering about IFL's for skyboxes... would that work?

I am sure you could do it. You would probably have to write in the code. There is a resource for day/night skys out somewhere. Probably be better of trying to add AVI or somthing along those lines. Might wind up being smoother than IFL. Matt

He has 5 images, in a 5 frame sequence. In order to play all of those, they must be set to 1 frame each.
I was not aware of the override duration feature, however.
Either way, in that situation you have to add more frames of animation to get an image to be displayed longer.

Was incorrect. I think what you mighta been trying to say was "If you have 5 image frames you need to fill 5 KeyFrames". That is true. The time is totoally up to you.
In fact I believe but have never tryed you can change the rate at which the IFL will play through the material editor or maybe the time configuration. And export it that way. But its easier just to do it with the Override duration.

Thats true, but with OVERRIDE DURATION you can have 5 frames play in 30 seconds if you wish. You still have 5 frames and and your sequence helper covers 5 keyframes but the duration of 30 seconds. No more frame no more images but it still will take 30 seconds to go through. I wasn't trying to bash your advice I was just pointing out that your statement:Quote:Your images MUST be played at one frame a second.

Thanks for the hints. Nothing worked exactly as stated, but you gave me enough of an understanding to figure it out.
Overide duration, use n-frames, use frames, all these settings to have no change at all. My object has no animation other than the ifl texture, perhaps that matters.
I set my time configuration to 30 frames, lengthened the line in the track view to match, and then added the frame count to each image in the ifl (that was the big hint I needed). This caused each image to appear to last longer, thus slowing down my animation.
Thanks again :)

5 is how many frames it should play. Yours might say 1, which means each image is only played for one frame... i.e. way too fast.
