:child killed: Segmentation Violation = Game File Destroyed.

by Michael "Doodle" Golden · in Torque Game Builder · 08/11/2009 (4:20 pm) · 4 replies

Was about done with the first level of my game, but now find that I am completely unable to save, no matter what I try.

The error message I receive when trying to save is: :child killed: Segmentation Violation The Application will exit now.

This completely fries my game, which I backup regularly.

Of course, backing it up means nothing if I can't actually save.

Any help?

Temporary Solution: Upon Starting Up Vista.

Start TGB. Open the Game File.

Do NOT Save. Move something. Shut it down.

Reload TGB. Save. It should continue to save until next opening.

I don't know WHY this works, but it has been pretty consistent.

:/

Yay Vista.

you could try typing trace(true); into your console to see which function errors out
