PhotoShop 6 button etcc tutorial

All,
I have been searching the net for a decent tutorial describing how to make high quality image buttons (I can make those crappy programmer art ones, but they just dont cut it for me anymore :( )and other grahical effects that one needs to make a spiffy mainmenu and HUD :)
any leads?

Most of the tutorials there are based on web stuff, but the styles you create with the help of the tutorials can be used just as easily for game stuff.
