I'm not even excited about "cloud computing" anymore. It was a nice experiment, but frankly I've lost too much on it. Too many hiccups, too much time lost to lag, too many times my ISP goes down, too many times feeling like I've lost too much just because something happens to my internet connection.
"Garage" Games has become too gung ho on the "we've gotta be followers" thing. They've gotta follow the market on pricing. They've gotta follow the online crowd. They've gotta follow this, follow that.
If this is the future of gaming (and computing, for that matter), I'm not sure I want to be a part of it.

I'm personally not very excited about this indie development model anymore. Now that GG has lectured us on what "proper" price for a game engine is, I'm just giving up on even trying to be a part of game development.I'm not even excited about "cloud computing" anymore. 1) In your FAQ, it sounds like the territorial distribution rights are exclusive. Is this the case? Are non-exclusive rights available as an option or for negotiation?
2) There was mention of a royalty rate in the second link, but either I'm up too early this morning, or the wording was a bit fuzzy and I had a hard time working out who got the %25. Is there a base royalty rate that developers can expect to receive?

It's an interesting option, but I have questions from what I've read/skimmed (directed at Nathan, since he's the man with this):1) In your FAQ, it sounds like the territorial distribution rights are exclusive. Is this the case? Are non-exclusive rights available as an option or for negotiation?

We've been working on this for over a year and are just now about to come out of the gate with some major distribution partners who will white label our service.
