PhysX 1344 Barrel Torture Test - Bug? Well maybe, but it was a tortue test.

When exiting a PhysX level it asked me if I wanted to save, since I had made some changes, I selected yes. What happened was it saved the level at the current animation state of the objects, instead of the actual position I had them set at.

Steps to recreate:

1. Create a level with more than 1344 barrels.
2. Somehow exit the level while the animation is running.

Seriously not sure how I exited the level and saved while it was running. I have not been able to duplicate it yet.... But I lost my nice big pile of barrels.

I would actually see that as a great feature, even if it is in this occurance a bug: the possibility to run the simulation and save the state of an object in that. That would make various "random placements" far simpler, especially for stuff you really want to be physical things that look like broken down etc

@Marc,

Possibly. I can see that being done in otherwise as well. Actually, in XSI when creating the objects you have to actually reset the physX scene before exporting.

I would think in what you are saying, that would be a deliberate save not a default? I was assuming I was just saving the last 600 or so barrels I had just added.
