Road Joins?

by TJ Culham · in Torque 3D Professional · 07/19/2009 (10:40 pm) · 4 replies

I was wondering if I'm just missing this, or if it's a planned feature for later, but is there a way to make a road (mesh or decal) join up to itself, or maybe form an intersection with another? Would be a nice feature, but I'm sure bug stomping is taking a priority over me being a feature creep ;)

Been some nice work put into this engine so far, and I can't wait to see how it turns out (at the moment I'm struggling with some of the lighting bugs on my laptop that can't handle advanced lighting, but meh, will use beta 3 until it's fixed or I get a better system ;) )

In short - no, there isn't.

However you could make a mesh or decal and place it in the appropriate place to act as a junction and then guide your roads to it's edges ... by eye.

I asked for something similar a while back (basically alpha at node points), that would allow you to make joins and forks, and James mentioned it was on the todo list (logged as THREED-462). Not sure if they're going to be able to make it or not.

Actually just the ability to select the end point of 2 roads and have a function called "make tangent" would be nice.

I think the decal method at the ends is what crysis used
