[b4bug] PhysX Cloth not working

by John E. Nelson · in Torque 3D Professional · 07/18/2009 (9:27 am) · 5 replies

The PhysXCloth level did not function correctly.
The cloth were hard as boards, and did not react to explosions or impact.

Console shows a PhysX warning with a drive letter of "F:" which I do not have.

PhysX Warning:
f:scmvistaexperimentalphysX_2.8.1_GPUnovodexSDKsCoreDeviceRegistryHardwareSelection.cpp(71) : CUDA not available

Note: The PhysX Room did work as expected. So the issue appears to be cloth oriented.

I just downloaded Beta4 and have the same issue - Hard Cloth (haven't checked for any warnings). Noticed the projectile from the gun had no texture either. Ran it on my laptop - HP HDX Premium Intel Core2 Quad Q9000 @2.0Ghz, 4 Gig, Geforce GT 130M, Vista 64 Ultimate.

no problems here with the cloth

@anuther1: off-topic, but which gun's projectile had no texture? It won't hurt anything... but I had thought I'd rounded all those up before now.

Looks like the projectile from the ramrifle. Alao, when I reran the level - when I walk through the cloth it waves/moves. Just can't affect it with the weapons. The ramrifle projectile never explodes in the Cloth level. Blows the hell out of things in the buildings/barrels level. Correction - It sometimes explodes when fired at the ground a few feet ahead - but has never explodes when fired at the cloth. (?)

The projectiles for weapons were never set up for interaction with the cloth objects, so that behavior is normal. I'll take a look at the other bug.
