please help... i have made 2 claws for a character model i made and i use TGE and have bought it so i have the torque show tool pro. i exported my model as a .dts and the claws as .dts but when i mount the claws to the player they are not the way i want them i do have the mount points it just rotated way off and i was wondering how to fix this problem. im using milkshape and it won't let me rotate the joint so do i have to program it where i want it to stay on the model

i'm 16 and i really enjoy making games and testing them. i started making games when i was 11 using game maker, but then i started using torque when i was about 13 and now i fell in love with game designing and look forward to making a career out of it.

It would be easier to rotate the claws model (not the joint!?) in milkshape and keep trying until you get it where you need it.

For example, find out which way you would need to rotate the claws and do so in milkshape then re-export and try your changes, the joint is only a positional node and does not involve any rotational values on export (Correct me if im wrong) or at least thats what ive noticed when rigging weapons, cars and tires.

However, There are also some resources that allow you to change the mounted objects position through script, though I'm not 100% sure if it rotates objects and either way I would still recommend fixing the model itself that way you have a referance on how to correctly rig your models and mounted objects.

when i made a western character and a shotgun, on the shotgun i rotated the shotgun and not the joint like you said but i didn't think that was the right way of doing it. thanks though :) but one more question what if i have 2 mounts on the characters hands and i want to mount the claw to both mounts. thanks again i will definitely go back to doin it how you said :)

Well I hope it helped, I'm not exactly sure about mounting a weapon to two mounts as that may not be available with just scripts and models and may require some source modification.

Though that would be nice to have as I have some weapons that would look "cleaner" with two-handed mounts as well, I just have no idea what would actually be needed as far as the Model/Script/Source pipeline goes.

is it possible to like put one claw on the left hand and another on the other right hand. im trying to use 2 of the same claws to put on both hands, but if i rotate it to fit on the left hand and it fits perfectly its not goin to fit on the right hand or will it?
