Mac Gui image paisting

Hello all. My name is Skylar and I have a question involving the Torque Game Builder for Mac osx10 Plus. So I have started My opening screen. Attached a start button and an exit game button. Opened up ... something batmap to insert my image. I used Word to create a simple dark blue backround in which I included my game title and an Image onto the page to give it some flash :D. I saved this as a docx file and put it into the image section under Common-gui-image.. No luck on being able to select this file or any other files in it. So I took the docx file and inverted it into a jpg file. Saved it into the same area. Again no luck being able to select it or any of the other files in there. Am I missing a step? does mac not support this? any help would be awesome.
