Terrain Painter - new layers and new materials not eraseable...

by Giorgio Zanetti ( JoZ ) · in Torque 3D Professional · 07/09/2009 (3:21 pm) · 2 replies

It seems that in the material painter after creating a new layer you have no way to delete it as there is no button to do it...

Also in the Terrains Material Editor you cannot delete new terrain materials, in fact the button for this purpose has no effect...

-EDIT-: This part obviously is not a bug... I think that in the Terrains Material Editor would be usefull to have also a button for duplicating a material... also to see implemented this resource "Layer based traversability for Torque3D terrains"
for it would be usefull too...

Yeah, I noticed this as well. I renamed some materials on a terrain, and loaded it up, and there was a new "unknown" material on everything. I reassigned all the terrain materials to the new names, but I could never get the Unknown material to go away. :(

open \game\art\terrains,
open managedTerrainMaterials.cs and materials.cs,
delete the materials you dont want.
its a hack, but till they fix the delete button, this will work.
