TorqueX 2d, Torque 2d?

What's the difference between these two?

Torque 2D works with the Xbox360
TorqueX 2D works with XNA which also works with the Xbox360
the question, is which one?

Torque 2D is what Torque Game Builder is evolving into. It is our C++ engine that can run on PC, Mac, Web, and consoles (iPhone, Xbox 360 with dev kit, etc).

TorqueX 2D is, as you said, strictly for XNA deployment.

Which one would you suggest for a beginner?

Do you have any previous development experience? What are you hoping to achieve: hobbyist experimentation, producing a game friends can play on the Xbox, a more serious Indie approach to make a little money and build a resume?

No, sad to say I do not have any development experience.
The only experience I have is writing half done text adventures.
I really was wanting to make little arcade games for the Xbox,
I thought Torque looked like a good engine to do so, but I want more Info
on it before I buy it.

Any advice?
