Hammer Setup

#1 I'd try the Documentation ;)

#2 The documentaition here is a mess of old and new source. I am currently trying to configure Hammer as well. I am using this how-to

my problem is finding the torque.fgd file. This is what the how-to says:

"Step 2: Now that you have a Torque configuration, you need to load the Torque game data file. Immediatly underneath the Configuration drop down are the Game Data files. Press the Add button on the left and browse for the torque.fgd file located in the torque/tools/map2dif dir. Map2dif is the tool which converts WorldCraft .map files into the .dif files used by the Torque engine"

I have no tourque.fgd file and when I click on the map2dif.exe file it just runs a dos prompt but no torque.fgd file anywhere.

Am I missing something because I can't figure this thing out?

#3 no, the hammer setup documentation is perfect and hasn't really changed. that's exactly where the torque.fgd file should be. please check if you've checked the sources out correctly (from the head, etc.) or may be try checking out again.

#4 My bad, I am moron. I hadn't insalled the torque.src file and I was looking at the torque tools file which contains a map2dif.exe file which has the same name as the map2dif directory and that is what through me off. My apoligies for my ranting I guess it is the frustration of learning something new.
