Can TGB be ported to TX2D?

by Randy Lutcavich · in Torque Game Builder · 06/22/2009 (10:14 am) · 3 replies

I know that TGB can be ported to iTGB for deployment on the iPhone. What about the 360? How can I get my TGB game on the 360? Can I port TGB to TX2D?

Also, is the full TX2D out? I only see the demo download. If not, when will it be released?

Thanks.

TGB can be ported over to Torque 360 fairly easily, but this is a commercial engine and probably out of your price range. Porting a TGB game to TX2D, however, is not easily accomplished since the two were written on top of completely different tech.

The full TX2D is indeed out. Underneath the "demo download" button on the TX2D page, you should see a "buy" button if you don't own a previous version of the engine, an "upgrade" if you do. If you have any problems purchasing the engine, please contact support@garagegames.com.

Not sure how I missed the full download of TX2D before... thanks!

It looks like TX2D is my best bet. Do you know if it allows you to import 3D models like TGB?

Thanks for your help, Deborah.

It does if you want to do some hefty code lifting inside of TX 2D. However, 3D assets are more up Torque X 3D's alley.
