Use geometry shape as bone node?

by Meaningfully Yours · in Artist Corner · 06/21/2009 (12:35 am) · 2 replies

Hi,

Is it possible to use a generic shape like a box to be a bone node for dts? After applying the box to a skin and animating it; is there a way to have torque see the BOX shape as a bone node?

Why do I want to do this?
To apply the box shape and set it up as a driver for the main mesh to be animated. Such as the cloth modifier, or any other modifiers in general.

thanks for any feedback. Still new to DTS and seeing what can, or cannot be done.

Yes, you can use shapes as bones and splines as well.

In order to convert your box into a bone:
[animation]
-[bone tools]
--[object properties]
---check the bone 'on' under bone parameters

Be mindful of the pivot point for the object.

Have fun, and good luck.

Thanks Jeff.

Worked just dandy. After using the morph animation setting in the sequence export control, it came out.
