Torque3d and ai middleware.

Hi there;
What kind of ai solutions I should expect from out-of-the-box in torque3d? (pathfinding, navmesh, state machines etc...)
Maybe gg team is already considering these options, just occurred to me after seeing the wonderful integration of purelight, and its suitable special licensing for torque3d users, I thought about other ai middleware solutions. Like ekione or spirops. If these kind of ai middleware can be integrated into torque3d and with a special "indie" license, that can open very interesting possibilities for torque3d in the future.

Thanks Rene. So is there pathfinding in torque3d out-of-the-box or is it planned as an add-on?What kind of ai framework is/was Gerhard working, any links?

AFAIK there's no builtin pathfinding besides the waypoint system. As for Gerhard's AI work, I don't think any specifics have been released yet.
While maybe not in the immediate next release of Torque 3D, we'll probably see advances here in the near future.

Seeing more middleware offerings with integrations for Torque 3D (with indie licensing options) definitely would be a great thing. As of now, I'm not aware of other middleware integrations currently underway.
As for an AI framework, Gerhard's team is/was working on this, thought I do not know whether this is still planned to be part of Torque 3D's first release. It was on the "Maybe" list right from the start.
