Forum searches suck please fix it!

We should not have to use the regular search first knowing full well that it is not going to give us what we need. Then have to do it all over again in the Advanced search. You are talking about 7-8 clicks or more.
What is need is at the top of every forum a box that says, "search this forum" not search all forums which is what happens. The only page that should have a search that searches all of the forums is if the user is at the root or index of the forums.
Second since you guys are obviously not going to back down on this crappy Pagination system can you at least add a little search box similar to the one for the forms in the individual threads that says "search this thread"
I have posted this before and it evidently got eaten or fell on deaf ears I know I have sent a couple emails one to Brett to pass on to you guys. I never go a single response.
Every forum software on the planet has these features except yours.
While I'm at it. Please do something about the emails when you are watching a thread. don't make the link in the email go to the root of the article. We know what the article says that is why we are watching it. There or hot links in the corner of every post in a thread and jump straight to that post so why cant you make the link that the email send to us use that instead of making up do all of this extra clicking to get to the posts that we are there to read.
These things have gotten really annoying for those of us that are working with torque 3D we don't want to have our searches search the whole damn sight to information that is only in the Torque 3D forum.

I have posted some bugs and request myself, and even when I got no answer, and the issue may not be fixed, I give as granted they read it.
Why? because I saw the man working, and know that he *does* take point on what we say.
Granted, sometimes we may have a bad day, and very little patience for what seems at the moment a nasty bug or an unforgiving missing feature. When that happens I myself try to put some humor into the thing, and take some deep breath, which always help to improve the mood and see everything through a better shader ;)
PS: you can reach the advanced search page faster by making a bookmark to www.garagegames.com/search/advanced.
Edit: fixed the link.

sorry for my tone. that being said i know i'm not the only on complaining about these issues. also what does programing the engine have to do with the website? correct me if i'm wrong but isn't there staff that handels the website as their sol responsiblility? if not there should be especially a website that has as many community members as this one does. also i dont think that any thing that was requested was likeley take more than a day for an experienced web developer.

anyway thanx Novack
forgive my ignorance as I don't use firefox but where exactly do I put this thing?

@Novack- Thanks, man Though I gotta say I'm not all that big of a fan of the firefox. I have been using Safari 4 for windows alot lately. it is Very fast and very intuitive. But I guess anything is better than IE. it is sad to see what has happened to IE over the years. There was a time when it was the shining star of the web and the Victor of the browser wars of the mid nineties.anyway thanx Novack

Ken is mostly referring to the fact that the people responsible for QA and responding to posts are tied up with our engine development. The actual web team is working, so it's good for everyone that they are focused on the updates.
Well, our web team is as good as you allude to. They have their own project plan and priorities. We've done right by the community for years, so we know what we are doing.

Never been a fan of IE myself. I really got angry with all that thing of the browsers war. It is, and always was, yet another hegemonic tool from Microsoft, imposing technologies, and breaking standars for their own amusement.
Copy the file at "/Documents and Settings/<User>/Application Data/Mozilla/Firefox/Profiles/<profile>/searchplugins"
There is a "search plugins" folder in "Program Files/Mozilla/Firefox" but I think is for legacy, dont know for sure.

I think better organization would cut down on the search problems. Can you sort things by product more? I have got lost in the resources trying to find things TGEA only and find everything all jambed together. Fustration is very high for alot of us.

We listen to constructive feedback and do what we can, when we can. We're also pretty busy working on a major engine release at the moment, so sometimes some things have to get put on the back burner.
