Bounds box resize - doesn't work in Max?

It seems that whenever I resize my model in max, including the bounds box, and then re-export, the 'old' bounds box is still used. I have to delete the bounds box and create a new one. Is there a workaround for this? Even better - is there an easy way in Max to create a bounds box automatically?

Resizing the box in vertex editing mode seems to work. No way to automatically creat a bounds box that I am aware of.
