Torque for XNA questions

by arno94 · in General Discussion · 06/09/2009 (6:41 am) · 3 replies

Hi everybody,

First of all, sorry if my questions has already been asked but I couldn't find the answers on the forum.

If I understood well the differences between Torque360 and TorqueX, I have two questions :

1/ If I buy an indie version of any TorqueX product and I develop a game. Can I sell it on XBLA or do I need the commercial version ?

2/ Does TorqueX3D includes TorqueX2D or do I need to buy both if I plan to develop 3D and 2D games ?

Thanks in advance for your answers.

1) You do not need the commercial version unless you sell more than 250K a year I believe is the number.

2) I own TX2D and have no upgrade option for TX3D so I would suspect 2D is not included in 3D.

But to clarify, XNA and Torque X are for the 'community games' section of Xbox Live, not XBLA. I don't think there is anything stopping you publishing to XBLA other than you would need to purchase an (expensive) Xbox 360 developer kit from Microsoft (Not the same as XNA game studio) and submit your game to MS for approval.

Thanks for your answers.

I was just wondering if we could upgrade from 2D to 3D but you answered me before I ask. :)

I wrote XBLA but I meant community games, thanks to correct me.
