Torque 3D Beta 2 Bug - ArrayObject crashes & fixes
by Konrad Kiss · in Torque 3D Professional · 06/03/2009 (4:20 pm) · 6 replies
The original of this feature, the Script Array Upgrade resource has been refined and corrected by the community, but the Torque3D implementation does not include these community fixes.
Even the very first fix by Cory Osborn in 2004 is not in. Without these fixes this feature is pretty much useless.
To save you some trouble, I've compiled all the fixes into the Torque3D version of this (since it doesn't actually contain new code I hope it's okay), get it here.
I'll be further testing this in the coming hours / days, I'll push updates here if I find something bad.

It'd be nice if people could volunteer to maintain popular resources if they are abandoned. I'm sure that if the original resource would have been updated, there would be no trouble with the ArrayObject class now.

I'm sure they will. As far as I know, they are trying really hard not to leave bugs that have already been corrected, but there's just too many things to look out for at the moment. Thanks Konrad. I had updated the the ArrayObject stuff to use the Vector class and sort of just left it at that, since it turned out I didn't need it for what I was doing at the time, but felt it was something that people have wanted for a while in TorqueScript. I wasn't aware of the fixes and whatnot (I know we had some of our own in there from previous work), or I would have been sure to roll them in too.

Thanks Ross. This is definitely a great resource, and it's nice to see it in Torque3D officially.

Really? I hadn't noticed ... and I've been using it ... so good catch!

@Steve: Lol, and I thought you were being polite by not mentioning it in the original resource (Beta and all, no need to advertise bugs just yet) - I thought that you telling that you were still using the 1.8.1 version was a hint at this problem. :)

I wonder if there is any chance that GG would roll some of these fine 'feature adds' into the base T3D ?
