Texture question, please help!

My textures don't carry over into torque? In torque all my models have a shinny look to them as if they are textured by the sky. I made all my twxtures in photoshop and they are all 512x512 .jpg files. I applied them in 3ds max to my mesh and then re-exported my model to .dts, I then copied all my textures into the torque folder where the model is and then replaced the old .dts file with the new one. Same thing everytime. I even tried to make my whole model one color, yet I still get the crazy looking sky texture in torque? Could some one anyone please help?
Thanks
Thanks

Do I need to use uvw mapping to apply the textures? I just selected the face's I wanted textured in the mesh sub-selection. As far as my stack goes it's just the Editable Mesh. Also relating to collapsing the stack, do I need to embed the shape agian after collapsing before I export?

If you're not too familiar with mapping, try creating a simple box and map that. If you feel good about mapping a box, try some thing a little more complex like an octahedron.
Also, remember that the material must be Standard or Multi Sub.
I'm in no way a pro at this, so I can't offer any really advanced help. I like to model as a hobby.
I'm not 100% on this, but to be safe, I usually Re-number and Re-embed the shape again.

Depending how complex your model is, yes you'll need UVW Mapping. It's no easy task. In the modifier drop down select UVW Unwrap and have a go with that. It's going to take time. In some cases, mapping takes longer than modeling. Once you're done, right click the stack and collapse all.If you're not too familiar with mapping, try creating a simple box and map that. You got it dude!! I've been able to figure it out. Thanks for the point in the right direction. I knew to Torque but work in the animation industry. Thanks a lot!
