Free updates/upgrades question

I recently heard about the Torque Game Engine and I am trying out the free trials to see what I can do with it.

I was reading about documentation and I came across some information about updates and upgrades:
Quote:Users receive free patch updates throughout the year and free upgrades to minor version releases

Does that mean that whatever version of Torque I purchase, there will be a limited amount of updates until I eventually decide to buy the next version? When the time comes would I be required to pay for the next version of Torque when no more free updates and upgrades are available?

Bugfix updates are free, but things wind down when major new tech is out. 1.4 to 1.5.x was a $100 upgrade (or something small like that), then upgrading to TGEA is another $145 (you only pay the difference between the listed engines in the store). If you act before Monday, T3D is $505 on top of TGEA. Each engine is supported for a good bit, but it seems to depend on the whims of GG how much constitutes an upgrade. T3D is a *major* upgrade from TGEA, for sure :)

I expect them to support it for a long time now, with small maintenance updates, speaking from experience.

How would this apply to a Creator's Club license?

Good question. MS release new XNA versions faster than they approve developer tools ;)
