1.8.1 web deployment?

by Harrison Pink · in Torque Game Engine Advanced · 05/29/2009 (10:56 am) · 7 replies

Ok so I only just installed and began compiling TGEA last night, but I still have been unable to find any documentation about deploying my apps to be usable in a web-browser via a plugin. Can anyone shed light on this, as it is the main reason I purchased TGEA.

Thanks!

TGEA doesn't have web deployment built in. There's a resource that was created by a community member for TGE that let's TGE be played via a browser plugin. I believe another community member has ported that resource to TGEA. If you search plugin/TGE plugin/TGEA plugin you'll likely hit it.

The only engine that currently has/will have this built in is T3D. I've seen it mentioned TGB will gain it as well when it receives its T3D equivalent lovin'.

Then the following phrase from the TGEA features page is a bit misleading:

"TGEA supports a wider range of platforms than any other modern game engine technology. Build for Mac / PC / Wii / Xbox / iPhone / Web all from the same project."

Well, at least there is a plugin out there. Thanks for your help!

You can get the Roozz plugin to embed TGEA 1.8.1 as well.

That whole statement is a bit misleading. I don't think you can build an iPhone or Wii game from TGEA either, and you need a separate license to build for Xbox.

The main publish to the web option for TGEA is via InstantAction. Which is probably what that statement is referenceing.

I am using TGEA 1.8.1
I would like to port my TGEA game to web.
Making a quick search on the forums helped me find this.
I have tried Roozz plugin but there is no good tutorial which describes how to port a Torque Game. They just showed how to port a .net app which is far different from a Torque Game.

Can someone give any pointers for this?
@Jaimi do you have any since you posted about Roozz plugin?
