Im not sure if this as an exporter bug or my fault
But hope someone can answer this
We have exported numerous .dts trees without error but cannot save rocks at all,we have tried 200 poly right up to 700 poly rocks with and without convexity and The dts exporter for maya 2009 will not register the geometry after embed shape it comes up with the error "no detail meshes found"
Anyone know what this means??
Thanks

When I have exported many DTS shapes which includes trees and all sort of shapes with or without a number at the end, such as 64, 128 etc etc the rocks don't work. Everything else does. Have tried all kinds of rocks such as Cinema, Maya (our main program), and tried stuff from games like Crysis and Oblivion and they all failed. The same error happens. Very strange when I'm able to churn out tree after tree after tree. So it's got us baffled. Also if we try and export a roughed up cube primitave with convex and concave surfaces regardless of poly count or name it exports fine???? PlantLife however so far is the only program where you can churn out rocks works fine....very strange!

mm, yes odd.

After many hours of getting nowhere , It turns out that the nodels surface must have a limit on just how concave it can be ,because as soon as I reduced the adjacent angles of the rock surface to appx around 50 degrees it worked , So there must be some limit on adjacent angles of the poly mesh.
It makes sence as we have modeled 80 Crysis style trees in the last week and no such problem ...........also no extreme internal corners.
Of course this could be an exporter bug with Maya 2009

do you have a mesh with the same number ending?
