TGEA World Builder / Level Designer needed for Online volunteer team

Gain valuable experience for your resume working as a volunteer for a registered game software company.

We are accepting volunteer applications for the position of World Builder (sometimes called level designer):

Worldbuilder should have one or more of the following skills:

Torque Scripting
Artistic instincts
Proficient spacial visualization
Experience with world editor (TGEA or similar)

Worldbuilding tasks volunteer will be performing:

3D model (object) placement
City design & layout
Terrain & environment creation
foliage placement
Lighting placement & scripting
Quest dialog implementation
Implementing triggers and other programmed elements

Requirements:

Must be have a computer that meets or exceeds the minimum system requirements to run the game
Must be willing to learn or have experience with Torque Game Engine Advanced (TGEA) world editor
Must be self-motivated
Must be able to accept an assignment and work on it to completion without supervision.
Must be able to learn new skills on the fly, preferably with enthusiasm
Must be able to create a visual scene from a text or verbal description
Must be excited about games
Must be able to accept instruction and adapt to the needs of the project
Prefer that applicant feel a personal drive to bring the game to completion
Must be willing to interact with the team using IRC, email, and keep current on the forums.
Yes, email really is important! So is IRC.
Prefer level builder have some scripting ability, but not required
Must be willing to dedicate some amount of time to the project every week.

How to apply:

This is a volunteer position. Each person works from their own home on their own time, collaborating with the rest of the team over the internet. Worldbuilders will report directly to Sparkling until a team leader is appointed. She will direct task needs on a day to day basis, so it is imperative that the worldbuilders are connected via IRC consistently. Contributions to the development will be listed in the game credits, unless the contributor specifically states they do not wish to be recognised. Work done for the team will count for resume experience.
