maya export

by Steve Heidelberg · in Torque Game Engine · 02/07/2003 (7:00 am) · 4 replies

I'm looking into Torque as a possibility for developing my game, although is Alias/Wavefront Maya exports supported? If so, what sort of process must someone go through to import geometry into Torque? I'm really interested in this product, although I really need to know how easy it will be to export artwork generated in Maya. If there is no way to export from Maya, could someone give me insight as to how one exports geometry into Torque?

Thanks in advance, Steve

i think there is no exporter for maya, but you can go from maya to 3dsmax to torque!
try to search the forums for maya (or just click here.
other tools for creating geometry would be Hammer/WorldCraft or Quark i think.

Thanks; I imagine you would go from Maya as a 3ds file into Max and into Torque.

Or you can use .fbx, which works better than .3ds
