Torque 3D release timeframe

by Matt Brasier · in General Discussion · 05/22/2009 (1:43 am) · 6 replies

There may be discussions regarding this in the T3D private forums, but I can't see them.
Is there any information from GG regarding even rough timeframes for a T3D release? The reason I ask is that I want to pre-order it, but am just about to go away on business for a month, so was planning on delaying the purchase until after then (taking a guess that the pound will continue its slow crawl up against the dollar). However if they have ended the beta program in a months time, I will lose out.

Will the beta still be going one month from now?

Almost definitely, but Brett Seyler mentioned that the pre-order discount will be reduced to $100 at the end of May, so you probably should pre-order it now before you leave, if you're going to get it.

Ok thanks! I will order it before I leave.

Its going to be really annoying knowing I have it at home, reading about it on the forums, but not being able to use it.

Heh, I know how you feel. After researching I reached the point where I decided to commit to Torque instead of looking into other engines and didn't want to miss out on the T3D discount so I purchased it but I'm going to be working in TGB for the next few months at least till I get to the point where I really know what I'm doing :/

noob here - looking for an engine. What is the difference between T3D and TGB?

One ends in "3D" and the other "GB".

TGb is for 2d games and T3d is for 3d (usually first person) games. You can look at them on the website as well.
