When beta 2 comes ....

When beta 2 comes out, could we get the forum cleaned up a bit or something :)
And, if possible, could we get a "what has changed/fixes/ect" list since beta 1.
Some places has a "TODO" list, since you have your's internally, could you perhaps make one of those aswell, so we know what your working on, plan on making, ect ect.
Oh, lastly, your 2 weeks per beta release (as some one talked about) has run out !!! :P (i dont mind though, since we have beta 1 to toy around with hehe).

If you feel like you'd like to suggest an additional subforum topic, let me know as well.

Yup, I will make a Beta 2 bugs subforum and we will post release notes/fixes, etc. The mainn forum is pretty useless during a massive bug hunt like this, so your best bet is to use the sub forums up above. If you feel like you'd like to suggest an additional subforum topic, let me know as well.

I second DeepScratch's motion.

I'm looking forward to a few things in Beta 2.. Light Rays, Bloom, ScatterSky and TimeOfDay. Hopefully Beta 2 will be released soon!

Though we shouldn't forget that public resources for Torque3D have a pretty cool advertisement value within the Torque community.

+1 deepscratch. Though we shouldn't forget that public resources for Torque3D have a pretty cool advertisement value within the Torque community.

I would be most probable to place any resource I publish in the same place were everyone is already custom to looking for them, one nice database of resources.
Also as Konrad points out, it allows non T3D users a glimpse into the T3D world. Some enterprising TGEA user may wish to adopt T3D resource to fit their personal TGEA needs...

I think its nice to have all the resources in one logical place. Im not the type of person to hunt multiple locations for the same type of new data. I would be most probable to place any resource I publish in the same place were everyone is already custom to looking for them, one nice database of resources.

T3D resources subforum would be nice, i check the forum mostly, i rarely get time to check the resources & blogs pages anymore.. :/

Ugh, we need beta 2 soon, i cant figure out what bugs has been reportet and wich havent, simply too many posts to keep track of them all.T3D resources subforum would be nice, i check the forum mostly, i rarely get time to check the resources & blogs pages anymore.. :/

But then again, maybe even that will be too much to wade through. :P
/me waits patiently for beta 2

Maybe we could get a private read-only (HTML export?) view of the bug tracker for T3D. Then we could see the bugs that have been entered so we don't re-report a bug.But then again, maybe even that will be too much to wade through. :P

And im sorta holding my current bug reports to see if they still exist in beta 2. Two of the bugs im very sure a related to already reported bugs, so they might be sub-bug bugs.

It would be nice if we could just search the T3D forums. If we can search them, then it would be nice to fix the GG search function because I have entered search criteria i know is here in the T3D forums. And im sorta holding my current bug reports to see if they still exist in beta 2. Two of the bugs im very sure a related to already reported bugs, so they might be sub-bug bugs.

A working search feature would undoubtedly save time as well as repeated questions and bug reports.

I agree with Caylo on the subject of searching the T3D forums.. On several occasions now I have wanted to search for something which I know exists in the T3D forums, but the searches always return zero results.A working search feature would undoubtedly save time as well as repeated questions and bug reports.

With that said there will be a known issues list, a new list (what's new in that beta), and a fixes list...
05/20/2009 (10:03 am)
We've been preparing a beta 2 for a couple days now, hopefully we'll be able to push it soon. Even a beta release requires a certain amount of QA time to ensure we aren't pushing out some new issue that will prevent everyone from testing what will be really useful :)With that said there will be a known issues list, a new list (what's new in that beta), and a fixes list...

Can't wait guys. I've got some cool ideas for "hyper large worlds" that I'd love to implement and show off in a blog. I'm sure you guys will appreciate it ;)

mega-hyper-super-saiyen-large worlds?

I'll explain it after I do the first implementation... it's be pretty obvious, but I'm sure it's a technique that will be useful in large RPG worlds where you want to "fake" a super-huge world without using the memory-intensive 2048x2048 terrains
