No Camera?

by Michael Perry · in Torque X 2D · 05/12/2009 (10:59 pm) · 9 replies

I was doing the tutorial for a space shooter given in the documentation. When I went to run the game after I built it (just so you can see the pretty stars in the background) I get this error:

GUISceneView.OnRender - No ISceneCamera object found: cannot view a scene without a camera!

I thought a camera came by default? Even so I found a suggestion to go under the "Edit" tab and under the "camera" roll-out and give the camera a name. I do this, and save, but every time I shut down the TorqueX builder, open it again, and open the project, the name that I gave the camera is gone.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

Ahh, thank you my friend. Copying the folders over seems to work for now. I too am using Windows 7, I guess there's just some slight compatibility issues with Windows 7 that need to be panned out.

Thanks again.

Uh oh...I foresee few mixups in the future...a lot. Thank god the web team has different tags for user status.

Nice name, btw =)

Michael, replying to your own posts is a first but definite sign. Please visit a psychiatrist - catchword schizophrenic :D

To be honest, I was confused too when the real Michael Perry posted the camera question.

Why am I always the "fake" or "alternate dimension" guy? =/

Just don't use the mPerry or [GG]Mich handles in IRC. I have those reserved =)

That statement pretty much answers itself, doesn't it?
