Software and data rights

I have re-read the contract for Torque and have one question. If a game is published using Torque, does GG recieve the rights to the data (i.e. vehicles, characters, etc.) in the game, or just retain their rights to the code? If they just retain the code rights, why does a sequel have to have a 50% content difference?

I just glanced through the EULA and didn't see anything concerning sequels (possible I missed it as I just took a glance). In any case, what Jeff has said in the past is that GG does not own the rights to anything you do, only the Torque engine source.

Grrrrr....I was looking at http://www.garagegames.com/docs/torque.sdk/intro/eula.html
Thanks for the post! That page ^ should be changed to point to the proper EULA. I was starting to sweat it there for a while thinking I was going to have to resurrect my poor try at an engine.

Umm.. so there's multiple versions of the Torque EULA?
..that makes me a little nervous.

Nothing to be nervous about. One is ancient and the one Ben posted is the latest.

The outdated license also exists in the engine itself! Run the example program, click on "About" and "License".

Is someone going to clean this stuff up?
