Bug: Collada .dae and material file + cashed .dts missing textures [Fixed in Beta5]

by JesseL · in Torque 3D Professional · 05/10/2009 (12:10 am) · 8 replies

Everytime I load up one of these collada models from this place
http://damien.rumiano.free.fr/blog/index.php?category/FFX-project
The model loads in collada and plays the inital animation just fine. However, if I leave the game and load it up again the models textures load only on one side of the model. This leaves the model half textured. If I delete the Material file and the cached .DTS file it goes back to normal till it recreates the materials file and cached .dts file. Anyone else experiencing this?

I just realized that if I wanted to create a cat that caught on fire and ran up a telephone pole and then burst into a blue waterfall. That wouldn't be to hard!

Hi JesseL,

I haven't been able to reproduce this one with the current (trunk) version of T3D. Could you retest when beta4 comes out?

It would be my pleasure Chris!

Ok. I tested this in Beta 4 and putting materials on him works great. The new shapebased editor also works great to reorient the .dae. I however found a new problem :/ It looks like after I rotate someone around and save it to file when I go to load his node structure again it doesn't load with any nodes to choose from to rename as the body parts.

I don't follow, sorry. Could you explain the problem more clearly?

Well I edited a node and made it eye. Then I went back to edit it or move it again after exiting the game and all of my node structures were gone. I deleted the .cached.dts and the all the cs files and then I could edit them again but that was weird. Everything else appears to be working just fine.

So....steps to reproduce this are?

1. Use Shape Editor to rename a node to 'eye', then save changes
2. Restart game
3. All model nodes are now missing

I just tried this and could not reproduce the issue.

Can you paste the contents of the .cs file here?

I can't reproduce it either. I'm not sure what happened.
