Gladly Pay to Learn TGB - Scripting

by XanthorXIII · in Torque Game Builder · 05/04/2009 (9:44 pm) · 28 replies

Honestly,
I would pay someone(Garage Games if they had their training workshops) to learn how to use TGB. I don't know where to begin. Going over Tutorials that tell me to put x line of code here without explaining why I am putting here doesn't help me in the slightest. No offense guys, I know you worked hard on the tutorials, I just need more background information. The breakout tutorial was what I was kinda wanting but wish it would have been completed. I seriously wish the other tutorials followed in that example. I'm pushing more for the scripting stuff of TGB more than anything. I'm fine with using the editor. It's the scripting side of it that I need more of.

"I'm the creator of making indie games"

Is this similar to Algore being the inventor of the internet?

No need to be a dick, Kevin James. He is the creator of http://www.makingindiegames.com/

Wow, Zombie post rises from the dead to cause mass panic....

To answer Kevin O'Flaherty I may be interested at some point but we'll see. What I'm looking for is

How to create a menu system
Changing Between Levels
Information on Behaviors
Working with Screen Resolutions
Something along those lines.
Right at the moment I am working with XNA and TorqueX and while a little more challenging I've actually gotten results out of it.

@Connor O'Kane:
I would prefere a .pdf or "to read" tutorial because when I'm working with torque everyone's sleeping here...
I think I'll buy Torque Script Interactive Tutorial (there's a MAC version, right?) before or after the TDN game example tutorial.

Kevin's series is actually very good. I think GG should look into hiring him to help Michael out with the documentation to bolster their group.
