directX and TGEA

I just received a new computer and it has Vista Premium on it. I'm using TGEA 1.8.1 and Visual studio 2005. I was wondering what the latest DirectX is that will work with TGEA 1.8.1. Also what libraries should I install.
I read some forums of people having problems with vista, so I would just like to get it right the first time. Links would be a great deal of help.
Thank you for your time.

There shouldn't be any problems with Vista so long as everything is up-to-date: service packs, DirectX, drivers, etc, and you've got plenty of RAM -- 2GB+. The March 09 DirectX SDK does seem to be working properly so feel free to go ahead and use it, just make sure you avoid the Nov08 SDK as Steve mentioned. March08 & Aug08 SDK's were good.

If your working on your own, use the latest SDK, if your working in a team, make sure everyone is on the same version ;)

TGEA works fine on Vista for me with the March09 DirectX SDK, however it seems that executables that I compile against the March09 SDK cannot be used by people using the Aug08 SDK.If your working on your own, use the latest SDK, if your working in a team, make sure everyone is on the same version ;)

It should work for people with the Aug08 SDK if they have updated their DX (not SDK, just the runtimes) install to the current one.

Don't forget to go to your Video Card provider for the newest updates - don't do it via MS and Device Manager, it'll supply you with drivers from '06.
As for Vista problems, I don't use Aero but that's all. It eats extra performance even if it doesn't cause a problem.
