NOT A BUG!: GUI Editor Control Palette Usability NOT A BUG!

by Michael Hall · in Torque 3D Professional · 05/02/2009 (3:39 pm) · 8 replies

Trying to add a control to a GUI from the Control Palette doesn't work for any of the selections -- note: I didn't try them all.

Error message reported in the console.log:
"tools/guiEditor/gui/guiEditor.ed.cs (293): Unable to find object: 'GuiEditorInspectName' attempting to call function 'setValue'"

The erratic resizing of the Editor viewport has already been mentioned.

Resolved. Not a bug after all. And don't I feel stupid ;)

Silly me hadn't used the GUI Editor since TGE and had no idea you could drag and drop the controls from the palette. I thought it worked by selecting what you wanted and it would magically appear and you then moved it to where you wanted it.

Drag-and-drop is definitely better. What a fortuitous drunken accident to discover this :D

It's almost 3am here...and I'm swimming in a sea of Jager ;) I was literally falling out of my chair when I discovered that feature.

I'm probably far too scatterbrained to be much of a philosopher.

the meister of the sheas.
scatterbrained is a prerequisite for a philosopher, and Jager, of course,
though absinthe 90% does a good job too ($30 a bottle here!! awesome stuff)

Absinthe is about $100 to have imported here -- I should move...

There has been many a night that I've played for free alcohol, and jager does seem to lead to sage advice -- I mean drunken rambling!

My how this thread has devolved ;) but at least there was no "real" bug!

I'll drink to that!
